"Doug Korman’s day job is at the local nickel mine, but the rest of the time, he’s coaching and making a difference in the lives of his players. Coaching a team in Thompson, MB isn’t easy, as a competitor’s rink is not simply a few kilometres down the road. The teams they play against are upwards of an 8 hour drive away. Doug has been the coach of the Norman North Stars Midget AAA Team for so long , he’s now coaching the kids of players he used to coach. He is a hockey fixture in the town of Thompson."
